TOPICS for CHAPTER 21:
In the last vision John was shown, he saw billions of unbelievers being thrown into the Lake of Fire. Why? Because their individual names were not written in the Book of Life.
Quite abruptly, the scene changes from Great White Throne and the Book of Life to something awesomely beautiful. John sees a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH.
John knew about the Old Jerusalem. In fact, the Last Supper was held in Jerusalem. But the New Jerusalem?
John's vision of New Jerusalem begins when one of the seven BOWL angels carries him to view the city from a high mountain.
John recalls the sight: The city shines with the glory of God. Its high wall has twelve gates bearing the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. On the twelve foundations, the names of the 12 apostles.
The new Jerusalem has streets of pure gold. The Glory of God is its lighting system. Its gates never are shut because there is no night there.
Only residents in the new Jerusalem are ones whose names are written in the LAMB'S BOOK OF LIFE!
