TOPICS for CHAPTER 4:
During the first three chapters of the Revelation, John is given a glimpse of his Friend, Jesus (in Jesus' heavenly role). In this chapter, John is shown God, Jesus' Heavenly Father.
John is carried in the Spirit to heaven, where he sees God sitting on the throne. The scene is overwhelmingly beautiful accompanied with lightning and thunder.
Twenty four elders are around the Throne with the seven Spirits of God, who appear like lamps.
In the center around the Throne, are four living creatures who never stop singing, "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come." Each time they praise God, the twenty-four elders cast their crowns before Him, saying He is worthy of the glory because He created all things, and by His Will they have their existance.
