Summary: The church at Thyatira seems to have a lot going for it. It is located in a commercial town. Business is good. Except there is this woman, Jezebel. You can read all about it. The overcomers are blessed again with leadership responsibilities. Why?
Summary: Sardis church seems to be active, but a look into the congregation's eyes and they looked old or worn out. What is going on here? The reader knows. Oh, and the overcomers still have their place.
Summary: Philadelphia seems to be a solid functioning church. They know their relationship with God, BUT there must have been some imitators in sheep's clothinng. Ouch. To the overcomers, they are done with their labors and it is time to rest.
Summary: The last church, Laodicean congregation, have become complacent. The comforts of this world have so blinded them to their spiritual nothingness. Jesus says He even is standing at the church's door and knocking, knocking, and knocking. There must be something wrong? But overcomers (who are they anyway?) get to sit on Jesus' throne. Wow!
